She hosted Worst Cooks in America for an impressive 27 seasons, with her iconic spiky platinum hair, bold personality, and true love for all things culinary.
Additionally, she appeared on Chef Wanted, Chopped, Food Network Star, and most recently, House of Knives, premiering in March 2025.

“Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”

Burrell’s sudden death has sent shock waves through the cooking world and fans who regularly watch her.
A source told People that a day before the chef died, the 55-year-old had taken part in her newfound hobby of improv.
On Monday, June 16, she performed an improv show at The Second City New York in Brooklyn, which was the finale to the course she’d been taking.
The source revealed: “Everyone said she was so great last night and so happy.”
A separate source who’d been at the show added: “She was in great spirits last night during and after the improv show. Typical fun, outgoing Anne, having a blast.”

Heartbreakingly, just four days before Burrell’s death, she made her final post.
With a beaming smile, she posted a selfie with the ‘green lady of Brooklyn,’ an 83-year-old artist who has a love for everything green, including dressing from head to toe in the color.

Burrell captioned the picture: “I ran into @greenladyofbrooklyn in my neighborhood today!!
“I’m not going to lie- I have been keeping an eye out for her. I may or may not have followed her down the street for a minute. She is just lovely!!”
The late chef also hashtagged the image: ‘I love what I do,’ and ‘lucky girl.’
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has not yet confirmed Burrell’s official cause of death.
