Chris Pratt Breaks Silence After Fan Backlash Over Remarks

Chris Pratt has addressed backlash after receiving criticism for comments made following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Some Marvel fans went as far as demanding he be removed from future projects. Kirk, 30, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on September 10 during an event at Utah Valley University. Witnesses reported that he was struck once in the neck and collapsed before emergency responders could save him.

The FBI later identified the alleged shooter as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who is in custody facing aggravated murder and weapons charges. Prosecutors have stated they may pursue the death penalty. Kirk’s wife, Erika, and their two young children have received an outpouring of public sympathy.

Soon after the news broke, Pratt posted on X: “Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us.” The message drew mixed reactions, with critics accusing him of aligning with Kirk’s politics. Within hours, hashtags calling for Pratt to be fired from Marvel began trending. Supporters, however, defended his right to offer condolences.

Pratt later shared a video urging followers to pray, connect with loved ones, and take time away from their phones. The post received both praise and criticism, highlighting the polarized response. Industry analysts suggest the controversy is unlikely to affect Pratt’s Marvel future, citing his strong box-office track record and dedicated fan base.
